Greenland 2013 - Sailing Expedition - Over Green Islands
Leg: N 10
Cruise rout: Dublin - Lisboa
Greenland 2013 - sailing South.
From Dublin do Lisboa
On 29th September we arrive in Dublin. We will spend there just as much time as we need to prepare the yacht and to see all places that are a must to see and interesting. For sure Guinness Museum is a must, the rest depending on time;-).
Now we set sail, planning to see some port on the English coast - yet to consider which one (more time and research needed). But the next port has been specified – Brest, France.
There is a lot to see in Brest but certainly one of the most interesting places is the Maritime Museum located in a castle and one of the world's largest oceanarium.
From Brest through Biscay to Spain, namely A Corunya. This is a charming Spanish town with The Tower of Hercules, which is the oldest lighthouse in the world, operating continuously since Roman times, from the second century AD to be exact.
From Corunya we will sail to the small town of Baiona where we can find a replica of Pinta - Columbus’ ship (Baiona was the first European port to which he returned after the discovery of America). And... goodbye Spain.
The next port is Porto in Portugal, a beautiful town with steep narrow streets and famous alcoholic beverage “porto”. After leaving Porto we are heading Lisbon.
We hope to see a lot and sail a lot during this trip – see you ;-)
